Sara K. Schneider, Ph.D.
Founder/CEO

Based in Chicago, Founder & CEO Dr. Sara K. Schneider works internationally at the leading edge of social systems, and analyzes and crafts services infused with her unique ability to empathize with audiences. As a performance anthropologist and inventor, she is able to name and design what’s missing—and needed—and to engage in the design solution process, whether by coaching, partnering collaboratively with her clients, or offering direct services.

Her expertise in group dynamics, creative development, and product invention, along with her values-based commitment that work is meant to be a high expression of our humanity, nourish her work in consulting to, training, conducting retreats for, and coaching professionals in healthcare, education, nonprofit, religion, market research, manufacturing, and nonprofits. Her research and consulting work have spanned continents, and she has a special interest in the intercultural encounter of workplaces.

As the creator of the eponymous THE HUMAN JOURNEY (THJ) method and materials for facilitating small groups facing major life transitions, especially end of life, and as an entrepreneur herself, Sara has worked directly in business and marketing strategy, sales, and training. Her THJ trainees work across the United States and in Canada, Jamaica, and South Africa. She is the author of three books, along with chapters and articles, on the fashion industry, design, police work, medical training, and the arts. One-of-a-kind interviews and photographs for her second book, Vital Mummies, are housed in the Special Collections of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Prior to starting THE HUMAN JOURNEY, she was a tenured faculty member and program director in leadership development and has taught across the social sciences and the arts. Capacity- and wisdom-building are the focus of her work. See her books at amazon.com
